Andrew Banks supply all the goods advertised on this website. All deliveries are carried out by our staff or a reputable haulage company.
Changes to the terms and conditions
Our terms and conditions are subject to amendment. Revised terms and conditions will be submitted on our website for at least 14 days before they become effective. Continuing use of the Andrew Banks website will bind you to the sale of goods via this website revised terms and conditions at the effective date.
Use of our website
Any content which Andrew Banks produce is intended to be helpful, however we cannot guarantee that it is accurate or up to date at all times, although best efforts are made to take account of peaks of demand and shortages of supply.
We cannot guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted or faultless but will endeavour to fix errors when we become aware of them.
We reserve the right to suspend this website for repair, maintenance, improvement or other technical reason.
Terms of Trade
You have the right to cancel and return your order within fourteen days of receiving the goods. You cannot return furniture which you have assembled, as we only accept a return in the same condition that you received it and/or in the original undamaged packaging.
Unfortunately we cannot cancel, refund or exchange bespoke furniture or made-to-order items, such as special order cushions
If you need to change details of your delivery address or remove items from your order, or cancel it completely, please contact us on 01279 626389 between 09.00-17.30, Monday to Friday or email us at least 24 hours before the due delivery date.
If you would like to add products to your order, please place a new order via the website or by emailing us on email@example.com

We also welcome feedback from our customers and continually strive for improvement. In the event of you having a complaint or problem with any aspect of our service or the products we offer, please call us on 01279 626389 or contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will try to rectify any problem or issue you may have quickly and effectively.
All complaints will be acknowledged within two working days and will be resolved as soon as possible. We will always keep you informed throughout the process of resolving your complaint and we will keep the details of your complaint confidential.
Cancellation by Us
We reserve the right not to process your order if:
We have insufficient stock to deliver the goods you have ordered
We do not deliver to your area
One or more of the goods you ordered was listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or error in the pricing information received by us from our suppliers
If we do not process your order for the above reasons, we will notify you by email and will credit your account any sum deducted by us from your credit/debit card within fourteen days.
CARING FOR YOUR FURNITURE
Over time, as part of the natural weathering process, small cracks and splits will appear in the wood. This is a normal characteristic for any timber which remains outdoors, however its strength and durability will remain unaffected.
After a few months in an outdoor environment, untreated teak and other timbers will weather to a silver
grey colour, which is due to the action of sunlight. Many owners of teak furniture like this natural patina and as teak has natural oils in it it only needs cleaning occasionally with teak cleaner and this is Barlow Tyrie's recommendation for maintaining it.
Those customers who prefer the original teak colour we offer a number of products to apply to your furniture, but this is only cosmetic and will not protect or preserve the showroom colour.
Other timbers may benefit from a protective finish after delivery, please ask.
With painted furniture there may be hairline cracks in the finish, due to the timber moving caused by climatic conditions. Regular maintenance is advised and ultimately sanding the affected area down to the bare wood might be recommended and reapplying a coat of appropriate finish to the timber.
Barlow Tyrie’s Titan Range is from their Rustic Teak Collection that uses teak featuring knots and a varied grain pattern, which we believe is part of its character and charm. Please note that a laminated timber product in an outdoor environment is ‘alive’, so cracking is normal and should be expected as with all other outdoor timber products.
Regular maintenance using recommended care products will preserve the fine appearance of your
furniture. Cleaning once or twice a year will be adequate in most circumstances but we recommend more frequent cleaning in a coastal environment and occasionally rinsing your furniture with fresh water. Stainless steel furniture used in a chlorinated indoor environment will require frequent cleaning and is therefore not recommended.
Aluminium is a strong yet light material that does not corrode or rust making it ideal for outdoor furniture that benefits from being easily moved in use. Barlow Tyrie's Aluminium furniture is pre-washed, etch primed and electrostatically powder coated for an optimum even cover, before being baked in an oven to fix the finish.
This process prevents oxidation and gives an attractive, hard wearing surface and the possibility to offer varied colour themes.
Slings for our aluminium, timber and stainless steel furniture made using high quality Textilene® branded material is made from PVC coated polyester yarn. This material is strong and durable with a high resistance to mildew in a damp environment. Textilene® is fire resistant and requires very little maintenance.
We recommend that woven furniture is cleaned at least once a year with the appropriate non-foaming cleaner following the instructions on the container.
Our round braided cord is made from Textilene® and Diversatex® branded yarns that use non-stretch polyester with a PVC coating. This material is ideal for outdoor furniture being light in weight, resistant to UV light, mould and waterproof with a deserved reputation for durability and strength.
Barlow Tyrie manufacture their cushions in Sunbrella® fabric and Sunbrella-Rain® fabric both of which are made from a durable, 100% solution dyed acrylic fibre, which is colour fast in sunlight. Sunbrella® fabric has a water repellent finish applied, but is not waterproof and should not be left out in heavy rain.
Sunbrella-Rain® fabric has an additional barrier finish that is waterproof.
Brush off any loose dirt, use a sponge or soft bristle brush to clean. Do not dry clean, iron, steam iron or tumble dry cushions. Do not use bleach or strong detergents. Use Barlow Tyrie non foam cleaner.
Furniture covers & bags
Furniture covers are a good option for bulky items, bags for cushions and covers for parasols when not in use to reduce the amount of cleaning required. Do not store any items when wet as mildew and worse will be encouraged. Some covers may not be a perfect fit for your items so something placed underneath between the furniture and the cover to prevent sagging and help air flow may be necessary, this will reduce the risk of rotting.
Wasps can be a problem and love making their nests out of wood, our anti wasp solution is an effective deterrent.
Stain guard is a clear solution that is excellent to use regularly on new and weathered timbers to reduce the incidence of food and drink spills staining your furniture.

We guarantee that from the date of delivery our furniture including; sets, tables, benches and chairs are free of manufacturing defects and fit for their intended purpose subject to reasonable wear and tear in normal domestic use for a period of twelve months. The guarantee applies to all standard furniture purchased on or after 1st January 2021. Teak garden furniture purchased before this date is supported on an individual basis. If there is a fault in the workmanship, in any part or component, we will repair or replace the furniture free of charge. A defect under these terms means any imperfection in the material or workmanship that will impair the use of the furniture product. Natural variations in the colour and grain direction are to be expected in all timbers.
This guarantee is subject to the following conditions:
The guarantee does not apply to normal wear and tear or normal deterioration as a result of domestic residential use.
The guarantee does not cover defects caused by the application of teak oil, varnish, wood stain, paint or any product other than that defined in our care guide.
The guarantee does not apply to furniture that has been placed on an uneven surface which as a result has caused the legs to weaken or table tops to warp or caused opening/closing mechanical problems.
The guarantee does not apply to furniture that has been neglected or not looked after as per our care guide. This is particularly relevant for all furniture that includes moving parts and joints that do require maintenance from time to time to ensure long life
The guarantee is only valid for the original owner and at the original delivery address unless the moving of the furniture is done professionally by us or proof can be provided that the transportation of products was done so by a reputable removals company or equivalent, which has all necessary insurance and industry standard accreditations.
Normal age discolouration, swelling hairline cracks and minor warping on our furniture is to be expected and is not a structural defect and is therefore not covered.
Furniture which has not been delivered, assembled or has not been assembled on site by Andrew Banks delivery team is not covered by the guarantee on a back to base basis only and the customer will be responsible for all costs of re-delivery and returning goods to our warehouse. Back to base means the warehouse from which the goods have been despatched. We cannot accept furniture which has been incorrectly assembled causing a fault or damage to the furniture. Any additional costs incurred by the customer excluding labour and parts are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in this warranty.
